Organic Beauty On a Budget #3.

I haven’t written about affordable organic beauty products in a while and I feel it’s high time for another installment of this series today because who doesn’t love nice, organic, natural products that don’t cost an arm and a leg. Plus, I feel that when you choose to go green, you should also try to buy less things, or at least spend less on cosmetics and more on organic food, for instance.

By no means I am telling you to not buy that amazing £100 balm that everyone’s raving about, but just think whether it’s really worth it. However, this is a topic for a whole separate post and I am here today to share with you my current favourite affordable organic beauty options instead.

First up, my all-time favourite body lotion, Weleda Baby Calendula Body Lotion. I have been using it for years and I don’t even know how many bottles I’ve gone through, but I know there have been a lot of them!
It has a quite dense texture, however, it basically sinks into the skin and doesn’t leave any oily or sticky feeling. It contains two precious oils, Sesame oil and Sweet Almond oil, which nourish and protect the skin. It has a very delicate floral scent, which doesn’t aggravate even the most sensitive skin.
I would like to point out, that they re-formulated it around 2 years ago, and I have to say that I did like the old formula slightly more, but nevertheless, it’s still my favourite body lotion. Plus, it’s so cheap!

Next, another Weleda Baby range product, their Calendula Soap. I usually use Dr Bronner’s Magic Soap because it’s just so good, but I do like to switch things up a bit from time to time and this soap has become my current favourite. Even though it’s a soap bar, it’s actually really gentle and is made with vegetable oils which do not strip the natural protective layer from the skin. It also has Calendula extract, just like the whole Weleda Baby range, which is ideal for sensitive skin and for eczema or psoriasis. It lasts a very long time, and that is why I also like to use it as a hand soap.

Another favourite budget-friendly organic beauty product is JASON Vitamin E Oil 5,000 IU. This multi-tasking oil is perfect for your face, body, and hair. It contains a mix of oils, including Sweet Almond Oil, Apricot Oil, and Avocado Oil, plus the addition of Vitamin E. When used on face it helps decrease the appearance of fine lines and reduce scarring. Used on body, helps fight stretch marks, and used on hair tames unruly, dry, frizzy hair.
I use it mainly on my face, every single night underneath my night cream and it works wonders for dry skin on my cheeks, especially now in the winter. I also like to dab it lightly under my eyes to moisturise and protect this delicate area.

Lastly, Skin Blossom Age Resist Face Moisturiser. I got this one recently, but I already like it a lot. It’s a lightweight moisturiser that is being quickly absorbed into the skin and leaving it really soft. Because it’s so light, it makes for a perfect base under make-up. It’s really affordable while still containing some quality ingredients like, Argan Oil, Shea Butter, and Cocoa Butter. It has a gentle rose scent, nothing overpowering, which is great too.
I don’t know about its anti-ageing properties and I’m not a big believer in all those “anti-ageing” slogans anyway, but it’s always nice to know that it might help to slow down the effects of ageing on the skin.
Also, for this price you just can’t go wrong.
