What’s In My Make-up Bag #1

I’ve always loved having a little sneak peek into my friends’ make-up bags and nowadays I love reading through all blog posts about the contents of other people’s make-up bags. There is just something intriguing about seeing what others use on a daily basis in terms of make-up.
That’s why I decided to start my own series of what’s in my make-up bag for anyone of you interested. Some things usually stay the same in my make-up bag but as a girl who loves make-up, I like to change things up a bit every now and then.
First up, Lily Lolo Mineral Foundation (£13.50). Now, I love my trusty BareMinerals foundation but I wanted to try something new and a while ago I ordered Lily Lolo foundation, especially after reading all the fantastic reviews about it. Let me just tell you that it does not disappoint. Just like with all mineral foundations you apply a small amount first and build it up to get desired coverage. No matter how many layers of it I put, I always get such natural and flawless looking skin. It comes in so many shades that everyone can find their perfect match. You can even order samples if you’re not sure which shade to get. Also, it doesn’t contain Bismuth Oxychloride so it’s great news for anyone who is sensitive to it and can’t use BareMinerals Original foundation.
Next, is my rediscovered love for BareMinerals Mineral Veil (£17.50). I used to be addicted to it years ago and I can’t even remember how many pots I’ve gone through. Later on I just forgot about it and was using other powders. I love how light it feels on my skin and how it helps my mineral foundation stay put all day. Its universal colour makes it suitable for everyone, although they make tinted ones now too.
One more product I’ve been using non-stop recently is another one from Lily Lolo and it’s their blusher in Surfer Girl (£7.99). It’s my favourite type of blue-toned pink which suits most skin tones, especially really pale. It’s super pigmented so you need the smallest amount and it doesn’t budge for hours.
My favourite mascara of the moment is Tarte Gifted Mascara (£11). I know it’s not 100% natural but I love how it adds volume and length to my short lashes. It also holds the curl and it’s really difficult when you have elephant-like straight lashes like myself.
For my eyebrows I’ve been really loving Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil (£26) in Soft Brunette. Again, not 100% pure but doesn’t contain parabens and also Hourglass doesn’t test on animals which is very important to me. It’s a waxy type of pencil that doesn’t smudge and its slanted shape works like an angled brush. The colour is a perfect match for me, not too dark and not too light with an ashy undertone.
Last bit in my make-up bag is Ilia Beauty lipgloss (£20) in Peek A Boo which is probably the best lipgloss I’ve ever tried. I’ve always preferred lipglosses over lipsticks and this one is like a lipgloss/lipstick hybrid. It’s creamy, buildable and not sticky at all. The shade that I have is a neutral, beige/pink colour that looks very natural on the lips and it definitely doesn’t leave you with a mannequin-like lips. It’s perfect to pair with a more dramatic eye look or just to wear it everyday as a very natural daytime look.
