My Favourite Brushes for Mineral Make-up

If you love mineral make-up as much as I do, then you might have the same problem I used to have which is: which brush to use with a particular product? I’ve tried so many brushes and recently I finally found the right ones to use with mineral make-up and today I’m sharing my selection with you.

1. Make Up For Ever 5N Brush – this brush is great for any kind of eyeshadow as it’s synthetic, so use it with loose, pressed or cream products (like RMS Beauty eyeshadows). It’s small and flat so it’s perfect even for those of you who don’t have a huge eyelid space. I even use it as an eyeliner brush as you can really get to the roots of your lashes thanks to its shape.

2. BareMinerals Full Flawless Face Brush – Oh, my.. This brush.. But first let me start with a little story. I have been a mineral make-up lover for around 8 years now and obviously the first product I got was BareMinerals Original foundation (which I still love until this day). However, it’s been up until recently when I finally learnt how to properly use a mineral foundation (you just need to layer it up little by little, duh). I’ve always used to end up with cake-face. Not a pretty thing if you ask me. I decided to get this brush because I’ve heard so many rave reviews about it. When I used it for the first time I knew we were going to be BFF’s. It gave me such a flawless and airbrushed finish to my face. It’s made of goat hair so it’s pretty stiff at the beginning but when you give it a few washes it definitely becomes softer. Its rounded shape ensures that your mineral foundation is blended seamlessly.

3. Real Techniques Contour Brush – I’m sure almost everyone heard about Real Techniques brushes and obviously they aren’t famous only because of their creator, YouTube star Sam Chapman, but also due to their performance and and low price. Contour brush was specifically made for contouring but on a regular basis I don’t really have time to contour my face (I mean who has?). I use it mostly for highlighter (cream or powder) and for blusher. All Real Techniques brushes are made of synthetic bristles, so again, they can be used for both powder and cream products.

4. Real Techniques Powder Brush – another Real Techniques brush that made it to my favourites’ list. It’s a big, soft brush with with synthetic bristles perfect for powder, bronzer, and even mineral foundation when less coverage is what you want or if you want to create a thin layer before using BM Full Flawless Face Brush, it ensures that next layers look great and that the foundation doesn’t settle on any dry areas on your face.

So here you have it, my BFF’s in the form of brushes.
