While there are many high-end, luxury brands being promoted all over the place recently I thought it was the right time to share another installment of my very popular series about organic beauty on a budget. Finding great organic beauty products which don’t break the bank and also perform is not as hard as some may think. After my latest post about sustainability I want to show that anyone can make even a small change towards a more eco-friendly life. Today’s post is going to focus on one brand only, Avril Organic. In the recent years I became a true minimalist when it comes to make-up. I like to have a fresh looking face, defined eyebrows, natural looking lashes and a little bit of eyeliner sometimes. It’s funny how much of a difference a little bit of makeup can do. Not only does it make me look put together, but it also helps me feels better and be more inspired. Continue Reading
Can we just pause for a moment and be thankful for January to be over? Let’s just all have a virtual drink for that. I just couldn’t be happier that we are one month closer to Spring!
January was a weird and tough month for me. It feels like every single January is like that for me. I had a good share of ups and downs, but I’m hoping that with the new month and longer days I can wave those bad moments away. I always feel so much better and more motivated in February than I do in January. Continue Reading
It isn’t difficult to notice that spring is finally here! It actually seemed to have been more summery than spring-like recently, which makes me very happy. All I want to do during such warm spring days is to sit outside in the garden with a book, soaking up the sun rays. With this gorgeous weather and summer upon us, I think it’s time to dust all the bronzers off. This year I have a selection of old and new favourite products that give this incredible bronzed skin for both spring and summer time. Continue Reading
Making a switch to non-toxic products is quite easy and pleasant when it comes to skin and body care products. However, it’s not always so pretty when it’s about the green make-up products. When I made the switch myself many moons ago (in October 2009 to be exact) there weren’t many organic make-up products available on the market.
One of the only one was Bare Minerals but it didn’t offer the convenience that the more toxic counterparts did. Plus, I’ve had so many non-green products that it wouldn’t even be wise of me to just toss them all away, so I decided to first use most of them up and try to find alternatives later on. As the years went on, more and more non-toxic make-up brands started popping up on the market offering a fantastic selection of products, from foundations and concealers to eye liners and lipsticks.
However, the one thing that has always been problematic for me, was finding a natural mascara that would make my poker straight, short eyelashes look at least somewhat presentable. I’ve tried dozens of the natural ones and none of them gave me satisfying results. They were either making my lashes clumpy or just not doing anything at all. Not to mention not holding the curl at all, due to being too wet and with not enough wax in them.
About 2 months ago, I stumbled upon Australian non-toxic make-up brand, Ere Perez. I haven’t heard about them before and after seeing that they also have a natural mascara I decided to give it a go, once again not expecting miracles to happen. I used it right away after it came and what can I say, it was love at first use. It’s perfect. It’s more on the dry side, which for me means that it holds the curl for the whole day. It also doesn’t clump even after putting a good couple of layers on.
It gives quite dramatic effect which I absolutely love.
I couldn’t also NOT mention its great ingredients, which include Almond and Avocado Oil along with Vitamin E, which protect and condition your lashes. It’s truly the best natural mascara I’ve tried so far.
I’m also eyeing their other products, which all look very appealing, especially their Bronzer and Blusher.
Have you tried any of their products?
Some of these products may have been sent to me for a review. See disclaimer.
