I have to admit that I am a skincare addict. While I can really downsize on other things, like make-up and hair products, I seem to be really obsessed when it comes to discovering new skincare products. Although, I have to say that I always try to use up any current skincare products before I purchase anything new. It’s all about sustainability and I just like to practice what I preach.
I can’t even remember how I found out about Whamisa Organic Skincare brand. I’m pretty sure it was through Instagram, like everything nowadays. Later on, I did a little research through good ol’ Google and read not only a lot of rave reviews about this Korean beauty brand but more importantly their ingredients list. None of their products contain any nasty ingredients (apart from Linalol, which I know can sometimes cause problems for those with ultra sensitive skin or allergies), and most of them are made with over 95% organic ingredients.
One of the first products I was really drawn to was their very unique Organic Flowers Toner Deep Rich. Along my research I have also got to learn about the so-called ‘7 Skin Method’ which is currently a very popular trend in skincare in Korea. ‘Skin’ in Korean means ‘toner’, so in other words you apply 7 layers of toner (‘skin’), one after another. Yep, that’s right, 7. But it cannot be just any toner. It has to be a rich essence, without alcohol in it, as it can really irritate the skin and make it super dry. Even though, I myself reserve the 7 layers of toner to Sunday evenings, I do use 2-3 layers on a daily basis morning and evening.
I have been using this toner for almost 2 months now and I can honestly say that it’s my new holy grail product. I have seen a tremendous difference when it comes to the softness and hydration levels of my skin. In the past, I used to wrongly assume that when my skin felt rough I needed more oil, but what my skin really needed was moisture. A lot of it. While I do drink a lot of water and herbal teas throughout the day my skin needed extra boost from the outside as well.
Every time I finish applying all the layers, my skin feels plump, bouncy and hydrated. Afterwards you are advised to apply a serum, which for me is usually Pai Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil and optionally also face cream to lock in all the moisture. I have been getting so many compliments on my glowing skin and it’s all thanks to this toner. I’m in love.
Along with that very first Whamisa order I also got a nice selection of samples which I started using right away instead of saving them for travels. Oh, well.
One of the samples was the Organic Flowers Lotion Original, which I used as my face cream or right before applying my richer cream for cold winter days. This lotion along with the toner just blew my socks off! I am not even exaggerating. I thought that the toner alone was giving me a baby soft skin but when paired with this lotion, it gave me the softest skin in years. I almost cried at one point as I have always wanted my skin to feel so soft. Yes, I know it sounds a little bit melodramatic, but try it for yourself and you will see what I mean. I think I don’t have to say that right after running out of the sample I immediately ordered the full size. I use only a dime size every morning, so it will last me a very long time. It will be also perfect for hot summer days, as it has a very light and non-greasy texture. Another sample I got was their Foam Cleansing Cream. It was another love at first use, even though I thought I wasn’t really going to like it as I’ve had a bad experience with natural foaming cleansers in the past. They always left my combination skin super dry and feeling tight, and this definitely isn’t the case with this one. It’s really rich and creamy, but at the same time foams a bit, leaving the skin feeling refreshed and clean. It’s especially great to remove any make-up residue. I always use it after removing my make-up with an oil-based cleanser first, like the NUDE one.
You really need only the tiniest amount with this cleanser, so just like the Lotion, it will last me for quite a while.
The last thing I got from Whamisa (definitely not the least though), was their Hydrogel Sheet Masks. I got a set of 3 and although I have only used 1 so far, I can already tell how great they are. If your skin needs some extra TLC, then these masks are going to be your skin’s BFFs. They hydrate your skin deeply and leave it refreshed and absolutely glowing. They can definitely fake that 8-hour sleep if you need to (although, I do recommend that you get a good 7-8 hour sleep each night!). Another winner for me!
Have you tried anything by Whamisa?
