While there are many high-end, luxury brands being promoted all over the place recently I thought it was the right time to share another installment of my very popular series about organic beauty on a budget. Finding great organic beauty products which don’t break the bank and also perform is not as hard as some may think. After my latest post about sustainability I want to show that anyone can make even a small change towards a more eco-friendly life. Today’s post is going to focus on one brand only, Avril Organic.
Avril is a French organic beauty brand with a variety of very affordable products. Their range consists of everything from make-up to skin and body care along with a hair care line. All of their products are cruelty free and many of them are vegan.
01. Organic Concealer in Ivorie.
This lovely little pot contains a highly pigmented, ultra creamy concealer. It’s perfect for covering those pesky spots or hiding the evidence of a sleepless night showing up under eyes. I even like to use it as a foundation, sheering it out with some moisturiser for a lighter coverage. The great thing about it is that it’s creamy but at the same time doesn’t smudge and leaves an almost satin finish. Not to mention that it has a really great staying power for a natural concealer.
02. Eye Pencil in Prune and Terre Brûlée.
As I mentioned in one of my latest posts, I’m all about simplicity when it comes to make-up nowadays. However, I still love to jazz up my minimalistic routine from time to time with a more defined eye using a bit of eyeliner. Eye pencils are my favourite as they create the most natural, smudged effect without too much effort. These two pencils are a great addition to my normally all-black eye pencil collection.
Prune is a beautiful plum shade, great for accentuating green eyes and for those days when you don’t feel like wearing any eyeshadow but still wanting to have some colour on the eyelids.
Terre Brûlée is a chestnut brown shade, ideal for everyday use and creating that minimalistic, discreet look.
Both pencils are highly pigmented and soft, but at the same time don’t smudge right away, like many other organic eye pencils. Plus, at €3/each you just can’t go wrong.
03. Lipstick Pencil in Bois de Rose.
I’m not normally a lipstick type of girl, probably due to the fact that mother nature didn’t really bless me with full lips. However, I do like to put a little bit of colour when I look extremely tired and this stunning, delicate rose coloured lipstick pencil has become my go-to during such desperate times. I like the fact that it’s in a pencil form as it makes the application very easy, quick and fuss free.
The addition of organic Shea Butter and Jojoba Oil, nourishes and protects lips from drying. Lovely.
