Bronzed Spring Skin.

It isn’t difficult to notice that spring is finally here! It actually seemed to have been more summery than spring-like recently, which makes me very happy. All I want to do during such warm spring days is to sit outside in the garden with a book, soaking up the sun rays. With this gorgeous weather and summer upon us, I think it’s time to dust all the bronzers off. This year I have a selection of old and new favourite products that give this incredible bronzed skin for both spring and summer time.

In the past I used to be obsessed with tanning and spent way too much time in the sun, getting burnt, which is very harmful for your skin. Even more so if you’re as pale as I am. But I’ve learnt my lesson and for the last 4 or 5 years I haven’t been tanning outside at all. Instead I opt for harmless options, like self-tanners and bronzers to achieve a healthy glow.

When it comes to creating that gorgeous bronzed spring skin I always start off with a self-tanner. For a subtle glow, that isn’t overpowering on my ultra pale skin, I go for Eco By Sonya Winter Skin, as it is the most natural gradual self-tanning lotion I’ve come across. It’s perfect for anyone with fair skin or for someone who just likes a bit of tan. You really can’t go overboard with it takes a good couple of days for the colour to build up. I use it for 2 days in a row and it gives me the perfect, light tan.

After all the self-tanner preparation and work, it’s time for the fun bit — the make-up. I like to keep my make-up simple on a daily basis but I do like to layer different bronzing products to achieve the look I want.
After my base is done I apply Ere Perez Clever Carrot Cheek & Lip Balm in Happy on the high points of my face where the sun naturally hits, so on top of my cheeks, bridge of the nose and forehead. It’s basically a red coloured balm that you can use both on your lips and cheeks, but also on the other areas of your face. Red tint is perfect for emulating natural tan, as you don’t naturally tan orange, but red, especially if you’re pale-skinned.

I then like to follow with a more highlighting bronzer and the one I’ve been loving recently is Dazzling Bronzer by Kjaer Weis. It’s basically a light bronzer and highlighter in one. I apply it where I would normally apply my highlighter, on top of my cheekbones, to get that nice golden glow.

I finish it all off with powder bronzer, and the one I’ve been obsessed with is the Au Naturale Cosmetics Powder Bronzer in Kissed. It’s a perfect light shade for those with fair skin, so you can go quite liberally with it and still look very natural. I also like to use on its own when I’m in a rush. Definitely something I’ll use every single day for the upcoming warm, sunny days.

What do you use to get that perfect bronzed skin?
