When it comes to shampoos, I have to admit I do have a slight problem. When I hear about some new shampoo, I just know I need to try it. Especially when everyone else is raving about it. So when I found out about the amazing Body Deli company
and their products, I knew I had to try something by them and it happened to be their Living Hair Sprouted Greens Shampoo (£18.50). Surprise, surprise.
So what’s so great about The Body Deli company? Well, they use fresh, raw, organic ingredients in their products, which are handcrafted in Palm Desert, California. Some of their products require refrigeration as they can easily spoil due to their natural content.
Now, onto the shampoo itself. It has a light green colour and is more on the runny side. Doesn’t lather too much which is good because it means it’s gentler on the scalp. The smell reminds me of lemons mixed with peppermint and it’s a very nice, uplifting scent. The shampoo is like a green smoothie, as it contains Barley Grass, Wheat Grass, Dandelion, Kale Juice, Spinach Juice, Spirulina, Chlorella, Icelandic Kelp, Nori, and many more. All the superfood ingredients in one shampoo! It does what it says on the tin — creates volume and gives a lot of shine and also enhances hair colour. At the same time my hair never feels dry after using it. It actually feels soft and nourished.
I actually do double washing, first with my regular shampoo (like John Masters Organics), and then with this one, focusing only on the scalp. In order to enjoy its full benefits, I massage it on really well and leave it on my hair for 5 minutes, rinse and follow with a conditioner. I find that leaving it like that also helps with my dandruff. Ever since I’ve started using it my scalp stopped being itchy and the embarrassing flakes disappeared. It also claims to help with stimulating hair growth after 2 months of usage. I shall report on that one later, but nevertheless, I’m already extremely happy with it. The only downside of it is obviously its price, but as usual like with all natural products, a little goes a long way so I have a feeling this shampoo will last me a good 6 months if not longer, especially that I wash my hair twice, sometimes three times a week. I’ve also heard great things about their conditioner, so I guess I will have to add that to my never-ending wish list.
