Organic Beauty On A Budget

When it comes to organic beauty products it can be difficult to find good and inexpensive ones that are clean at the same time, without any toxic ingredients. I find that when it comes to face care products the more expensive ones usually perform better than the cheaper ones (although not always) and they usually have more high quality ingredients.
It’s different with body products for me. I use a lot of body lotion every single day and I can’t imagine how much money I would have been spending every month if I was buying some expensive body products. I still choose ones with good, clean ingredients, but the price of them usually doesn’t go above £10. I have some affordable organic beauty favourites that I use everyday and which don’t make me cry inside when purchasing them. My wallet is definitely very happy too.

First, Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soap (£8.49). I believe it’s a favourite of a lot of people and I’m not surprised because what’s not to love about it? Gentle ingredients (Organic Coconut Oil, Organic Olive Oil, Organic Hemp Oil, Jojoba Oil), effectiveness, not drying your skin, and great value. Also, lasts ages! I’ve been using it for almost 5 years now and it’s hands down, my favourite body wash of all time. I always stock up on it. I also love to use it to wash my make-up brushes. It basically claims to have 18 (!!!) different purposes, including bathing your pet with it and… washing your car! Comes in 7 different scents and there is also unscented version. My favourite is Almond (smells like Marzipan!) and the Baby Unscented one.

Next, Lavera Apple Milk Shampoo (£6.45). Sadly discontinued I believe as Lavera introduced a new range of hair care products. If you can still get a hold of it, you definitely should! It smells so delicious! It’s a great and gentle shampoo for normal hair and can be used daily. Apple extract refreshes and stimulates scalp. It washes away dirt and any product build-up. Leaves your hair clean but not dry and shiny. I like all Lavera shampoos but this one is my favourite. My brother is a huge fan of it too.

Another affordable product from Lavera that I love is their Coconut Dream Body Lotion (£8.45) with Almond Oil, Shea Butter, and extracts from Organic Coconut, Cocoa, and Vanilla. Just like the Apple Milk shampoo, it smells AH-MAZING! I’ve already mentioned that I love anything that smells or tastes like coconut and that’s probably why I love this body lotion. It smells so good that I want to eat it! Reminds me of coconut ice-cream. YUM! It’s very light, sinks into the skin immediately and doesn’t leave any oily residue. Leaves my skin soft and moisturised.

Last but not least, Dr. Organic Manuka Honey Rescue Cream (£8.89). It’s a fantastic light, multi-use cream with Manuka honey and Shea Butter. You can use it on your face and body. It’s great for dry, irritated, and sensitive skin. I personally love to use it on my knees and elbows but mostly on my hands. It makes a great hand cream as it absorbs in no time and leaves no greasy film. Always helps to heal my ultra dry hands. The smell of it is very gentle, honey-like and not overpowering.
